Getting started
What is Dayclo?
Dayclo is a digital wardrobe. Photograph the clothes you already own, then plan outfits, log what you actually wear, pack for trips, and see real numbers like cost per wear.
How do I add my first items?
From the Wardrobe tab, tap the add button. Take a photo, choose one from your library, or paste a link to the exact product from a shop's website and Dayclo will try to fill in the details for you.
Do I need to add my whole wardrobe at once?
No. Add a few pieces to start and build the rest up over time. There's no minimum to use most of the app, though AI outfit suggestions need a slightly bigger wardrobe first (see AI features below).
What's the guided setup tour?
New accounts see a short optional walkthrough: add a few items, build an outfit, log a wear. You can skip any step, and skipping doesn't lose anything since there's nothing to lose yet.
Plan vs Diary
What's the difference between Plan and Diary?
Plan looks forward: build outfits for the days ahead, with the weather forecast for each day. Diary looks back: it's your actual wear history, confirming what you really wore, day by day.
Why does a day show as "Planned" but not "Worn" in Diary?
Planning an outfit doesn't automatically log it as worn. Once you've actually worn it, confirm it from Plan or from that day in Diary, and it switches to "Worn". This keeps your wear history and cost per wear numbers honest.
Do I have to plan an outfit before Diary will show anything?
No. You can log what you wore directly in Diary on any day, planned or not.
Photos
How many photos can I add per item?
One free, five with Premium. The first photo is always the one shown in your wardrobe grid.
Can I import a photo from a shop's website?
Yes. Paste a product link and Dayclo pulls in the name, brand, price, colour and photo where it can. If the page has several photos you'll be shown a choice, so you can pick the right one instead of a random model shot. Some retailer websites block this kind of automatic import; if that happens, add the item with a photo manually instead.
Can I remove the background from a photo?
Yes, from the camera menu when adding or editing a photo. It's entirely optional. Removing the background gives items a clean, catalogue look; keeping the original photo is fine too.
Why does my item's photo look cropped?
Dayclo crops photos to a consistent shape for the wardrobe grid. If a photo's proportions are too different from that shape for a crop to be safe, Dayclo shows the whole item instead, so nothing important gets cut off.
AI features
What does "Auto-fill with AI" do?
Looks at the photo you've just added and suggests the category, colour, brand and season. Nothing is saved automatically. Review and adjust anything before you save the item.
How many free AI photo tags do I get?
10, for the life of your account. This is a one-time allowance rather than something that resets. Premium gets 100 a month.
What does AI outfit suggestions do?
On the Plan tab, it suggests up to 3 real outfits built entirely from your own wardrobe, matched to that day's weather and the occasion you pick, each with a short reason why.
How many free AI outfit suggestions do I get?
10, for the life of your account, same lifetime allowance as photo tagging. Premium gets 100 a month.
Why can't I get outfit suggestions yet?
You'll need at least 8 items in your wardrobe, with at least 3 tagged to whichever occasion you're planning for (Casual, Work, Evening or Active). Dayclo tells you exactly what's missing when this happens.
What happens when I use up my free AI allowance?
You'll see a message explaining the free amount is used up, with the option to upgrade to Premium for a higher monthly allowance instead of a lifetime one.
Your account and privacy
Can anyone else see my wardrobe?
No other user can ever see your items, photos, outfits or wear history. It's protected at the database level, not just hidden in the app. Dayclo's own team can access individual accounts only for support and operational purposes, and it's never sold or shown to other users.
What does the "Data insights" toggle do?
When it's on, your data is included anonymously in combined statistics across many users, for example an average cost per wear. It's never your individual data or photos, and nothing is ever identified as yours. Turn it off in Profile settings and you're excluded from those statistics entirely.
How do I delete my account?
From Profile, in the Danger zone at the bottom, type your email to confirm. This permanently removes your items, photos, wear logs, outfits and packing lists.
Is deleting my account reversible?
No. There's no backup to restore from. Your account and everything in it is deleted straight away, and fully gone from all our systems, including routine backups, within 30 days.
Using Dayclo on your phone
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Dayclo works in any phone browser. Pick your phone below for exact steps to add it to your home screen.
No app store, no download. This adds Dayclo to your home screen straight from your browser.
1Open dayclo.app in Safari, then tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow pointing up) in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
2Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
Tap Add. Dayclo now opens like a normal app from your home screen.
Premium
Is Dayclo Premium available to buy yet?
Not yet. The groundwork exists in the app, but there's currently no way to purchase Premium.
What's free right now?
Everything except two limits: AI photo tagging and AI outfit suggestions (10 free for life, each), and extra photos per item (1 free, 5 on Premium). Wardrobe, Plan, Diary, Packing, Insights, Sizing, streaks and badges are all free with no limit.
Will I be told when Premium launches?
If you've tapped "Notify me" on a limit screen, we've noted your interest. There's no automatic email set up for this yet, so keep an eye on the app for when it launches.
